Special
Education

Why Special Education is Important?

For children with MDVI, a meaningful education can enable them gain independence and participate in family and community activities. Via special education, children with multiple disabilities learn how to live an independent life, something which comes naturally to normal children, has to be taught to children with multiple disabilities.
Challenges Parents Face
Accessing Special Education

Exclusion from Mainstream Schools
Most mainstream schools exclude children with MDVI, considering them too complex to teach.

Lack of trained Educators
Most schools, even special schools, lack adequately trained educators to educate children with a complex profile like MDVI, so families have no choice but to keep them at home.

Poor Methodology
Depending on the degree and nature of his/her disability, each child has different requirements. Teaching strategies need to account for these differences in skills, abilities and experiences, and most schools lack these methodologies.

Nowhere to Turn
Many families struggle to understand their children’s learning needs; while they want them to have the best possible future, they do not know where to turn for assistance and resources.

Our Success Stories

Mother Toddler Program
Mother Toddler Program (0-3 years)- It helps to bring in development through the various sensory activities and concept-based activities, which help develop the child’s concept and their overall development too. Thus, this the program educates the parent to help their children to reach the normal development stage and it also empowers them along with developing the child.
Early Intervention Program
Early Intervention Program (4-7 years)- The Early intervention Program includes assessment with a multidisciplinary team assessing vision, hearing, intellectual capacity and physical capabilities of each
child.
Functional Academics
Functional Academics (7-13 years)- Functional Academics ensures that children with multiple disabilities are well versed in pre-academics (reading, writing, math’s) so that they can excel in Academics.
Transition Group
Transition Group (10-18 years)-In Transition Group our Special Educators ensure that children learn via different activities, showing real objects and pictures. The child is slowly eased into basic academics like learning about the environment.
Remedial Support
Remedial support at Muskan Foundation is crucial for individuals with multiple disabilities, offering targeted interventions to address specific challenges and enhance their overall developmental progress, ensuring a tailored and inclusive approach to education and well-being.
HomeProgram
Home program started with an objective to support children with disabilities who are not able to travel to the center due to their disability or are based outside the city or state. In this our special educator and / or therapist connect with a parent / guardian to guide them with activities and get feedback on improvement. Here the parent/guardian’s role is more of a teacher/therapist’s partner to support the child with disability.
